THE ART OF LEADERSHIP 2013
We all enjoy the arts and love our community. Both can add beauty, purpose and fulfillment to our lives. But they flourish only through our support and participation. We must, then, make sure that the arts remain – and, in some cases – return to classrooms.
Arts resources, professional arts development for teachers, project materials and interaction between students and professional artists stimulate interest in and appreciation for the arts. These experiences expose our young people to new opportunities and possibilities. They give life to potential that might otherwise go untapped. That is why we are asking you to join us in this first Costa Mesa Mayor’s Celebration: The Art of Leadership.
The first Costa Mesa Mayor’s Award and the Lifetime Achievement Award will be presented to individuals who have demonstrated qualities of leadership and who have been advocates on behalf of arts education. What greater legacy is there to applaud than providing values, tools and inspiration to future generations which will be used to further enrich our community and our world? Please join us as we salute these individuals and raise funds for four Costa Mesa institutions who are leaders in the field of arts education: Costa Mesa High School, Estancia High School, PBS SoCAL and Segerstrom Center for the Arts.
